Most of us are familiar with card games such as Rummy, which are classified as “draw and discard” games. This is simply because your turn consists of drawing a card (whether from a deck of undealt cards or a discard pile), making a play if you’re able, and then choosing something from you hand to discard if you didn’t win during your turn.
These games often involve some type of set collection, where you might “meld” (place in front of you) certain groups of cards. In some games, you might continue adding to them, if you draw cards that fit the correct criteria. Generally for this type of game, the goal is to run out of cards first.
Other games might require you to keep these sets in your hand, until you have created a complete winning hand, which you reveal all at once in order to win.
